The Bob Culver Memorial Convention & Lamp Auction will be held October 16 - 18, 2024 in Harrisonburg, VA. It will feature a reception at the Evans' home, Bob's lamps at auction, our business meeting and a group dinner.
Bob Culver’s lamp collection is going to be auctioned off at Jeff Evans Auctions October 17, 2024. This has given us an opportunity to have a convention around the sale. We will be coming in Wed. 10/16/24 to preview the lamps. At 6pm we have been invited to a reception at Jeff & Beverly Evans’ house. The auction is Thurs. morning. Sometime that day we will have our business meeting & will also meet for dinner at 6pm as a group at Capital Ale House. Friday head home. I have booked a room block at Best Western Plus Harrisonburg VA, phone number 540-433-9999. The rate is $99.00 + tax per night, & you must book before 9/13/24 to get the special room rate. For those of you who like to come in a day early, the room block also includes 10/15, just tell the hotel at booking which days you want. Mention Night Light to get the special room rate of $99.00. We had to make a hotel change this year as our previous 2 hotels have had a policy change on
room blocks & it’s no longer feasible to stay there. Best Western was the chain we stayed at last year for the IN convention, & the hotel was very nice. This one also has very good reviews. You will find a convention reservation paper in your newsletter. Please fill it out & mail it to me by 9/25/24 at the latest. I need to know how many are coming to plan for both Evans on Wed. & dinner on Thurs. There is no charge by the club to attend. You can also email me at teddy3@comcast.net.
