Obituary
Robert N. Culver, Jr., a resident of Brighton, passed from this life on July 28, 2023, at the age of 78.

Robert was the beloved husband of Cathy, and the loving father of Rebecca (David) Meyn and Robert Culver III. He was the cherished grandfather of Emma Grace Meyn and Elliana Cathy Meyn. Robert was the adoring uncle of Tracy (Eric) Martin and Bethany Culver and great uncle of Hannah and Alyxandra Culver and Logan Martin. He was preceded in death by brother James Culver and is survived by his sister in law Debbi Culver.

Robert proudly served in the U.S. Army as 1st lieutenant from 1969-1971.

Robert worked at Ford Motor Company from 1968-2003 in variety of roles, his last job being the executive director of US Car. After retiring from Ford, he worked from 2004-2007 as industry co-director at Tauber Institute at the University of Michigan. During that time, he was the advisor for the U of M Solar Car team.

Robert was the founder and president of “Night Light”, a club for Collectors of Miniature Oil Lamps from 1995-present. He also loved nature photography and started the photography club at Pelican Preserve in Fort Myers, Florida. Robert’s other favorite pursuits included puzzles, magic tricks, card games, and of course, dad jokes.

He will be resting at the Keehn Griffin Funeral Home, 706 W. Main Street, Brighton on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 from 2:30 p.m. until the time of his funeral service at 6:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund https://www.jdrf.org/ or the American Cancer Society https://www.cancer.org/
