Night Light membership provides many benefits such as access to current and past newsletters, classified ads to members, and upcoming event information.
Club Newsletter
The primary means of communication with Night Light members is the Night Light quarterly newsletter. Over 132 editions have been published since the club began in 1990. In past issues, articles in the newsletter have covered topics like insuring your collection, photographing lamps, histories of lamp-makers, lamp reproductions, and many other lamp-related topics.
The newsletter always contains a "Want Ad" section (ads are free to members) to promote buying, selling, and trading of lamps and lamp parts. The "Market Report" keeps members up-to-date on lamp prices realized in auctions as well as on eBay.
Members
Members of the Night Light Club collectively have many years of experience. This experience translates to a knowledge base of the history of where and what year the miniature lamps were manufactured, the patterns and colors available, the names associated to various lamps, which lamps have been reproduced, and more. We now have the ability to access information and color pictures for the lamps in both Smith I and II.
Night Light Convention
Conventions, usually held once a year, allow members to catch up on great purchases made since the previous convention. Convention time also provides the opportunity to expand personal relationships with other club members. Past conventions have included Club visits to historical sites having a relationship to various forms of lighting and to various factory settings dealing with current day glass production. Conventions are also based around major lamp auctions, giving members great chances to add to their collections.
